SOME ISSUES OF IMPLEMENTATION OF FOREIGN EXPERIENCE OF NATO COUNTRIES ON PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF “UNIVERSAL SOLDIER” FOR ALL MILITARY SPECIALTIES OF THE ARMED FORCES OF UKRAINE

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze the standards of the North Atlantic Alliance (hereinafter referred to as NATO) in the defense sphere on the example of individual professional training of the United States Marine Corps as a universal factor of physical, psychological and tactical training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as AFU) and paramilitary units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The authors note that in the existing system of NATO standards in the defense sector, the most important place is occupied by the standards of professional training for all accounting specialties of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The relevance of the article is that the globalization of Russia’s military aggression, accompanied by numerous civilian casualties, destruction of infrastructure, resulting in man-made environmental disasters (such as the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station), causes an urgent need to receive from the EU and NATO member states not only financial support, supply of modern military equipment for the Armed Forces, but also the introduction of modern technologies and methods of effective and rapid training of the Armed Forces in difficult war conditions. In this sense, the standards of NATO allies in the field of training for military command and control, as well as professional, physical, psychological and tactical training of the Armed Forces personnel, provide for the reform of modern defense education within the framework of programs: DEEP (Defense Education Enhancement Program); NATO (MDMP), etc. Based on the analysis of experts in the field of adaptation of NATO standards to Ukrainian realities, the most effective means of defense education are completion of the “Higher Level Leadership Courses” (by classification: L-2 – tactical level, L-3 – operational level, L-4 – strategic level); individual courses of basic military training for accounting specialties of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; joint tactical exercises with allied and NATO countries, etc. In the current conditions of determining Ukraine’s strategic course towards full membership in NATO, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, together with authorized NATO institutions (such as the NATO Standardization Office), coordinate the STANAG or STANREC prescriptions in the field of military education, professional military training, in order to increase the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the way to conducting a counter-offensive to liberate our country from the aggressor state of Russia.
